This rare 1959/60 Yaou 6G-397 radio is in excellent original operational and cosmetic condition, and is a real powerhouse receiver... Pulls in several local stations loud and clear... Fully original operational pieces like this are considerably rarer... This piece has a small chip on the bottom interior mating surface of the back cover, which does not affect its fit, form, function or cosmetics (not externally visible)... The DOM is 3 March 1960, but the design year is 1959... This model is identical to the General (Yaou) 6G-397, but this Yaou version was perviously undocumented by the radiomuseum.org until I made them aware of its existence... So I'd have to say this version is somewhat rarer than the General version...The radiomuseum.org's dating subject matter expert is fairly certain the model year is 1959 due to to its design characteristics (wire kickstands were generally introduced before easel-post type kickstands, and were only seen on a handful of smaller pocket radios), and the design features of Yaou's subsequent model, the Yaou 6G-1809 (1960)which replaced this model... It has the same internal components, but features a more modern easel post type kickstand, and more modern mostly metal front cover... Good stuff... I'm selling this piece via other venues as well, so message me before purchasing to ensure it still available...
