Stunning and Rare Antique Tiffin Puffy Glass Pairpoint Style Fruit Basket Lamp:

I am offering a one of a kind Tiffin lamp circa 1920\'s. This white metal lamp was recently purchased from a large 1890\'s mansion in south Georgia which was filled with superb antique light fixtures of all types and origins. According to the seller, for decades this beautiful lamp was given a place of honor in the kitchen.

The lamp features two art deco women holding up a very large basket of fruit . The translucent glass fruit cover is both hand molded and hand colored and is of the Pairpoint style. The cover comes off as one solid piece and has no cracks of any kind. There are no chips in the rim which nestles tightly into the metal support.

The basket is composed of 3 circular bands . Two of these bands are greek key in design and between them, in the interior, are four secured semi circular pieces of translucent fresnel lenses. The lenses allow light to diffuse outward but at the same time prevent one from seeing the bulb and interior of the lamp.

This entire “basket” sits on a third art nouveau inspired band which appears to represent berries and leaves.

The lowest part of the lamp, on which the women stand, is of the trestle design with beautiful art nouveau scrolling.

The lamp has been rewired and has acquired a new B and P rotary switch which is in the middle of the trestle.

This gem of a lamp is in outstanding condition for its age and needs an owner who is appreciative of such a stately piece of Tiffin art.
