Plate bears an excellent detailed image of the iconic careenagein 19th Century Barbados.Depicts a complex of warehouses built in the early nineteenthcentury. The building complex, akaBridge House eventually was taken over by S.P. Musson, Son & Co in the1860\'s. Sugar was exported from thesewarehouses for many years.

For it’s age, the plate is in good shape, but may have some scratches in the emulsion, as well as the photographer’s thumbprint in the upper right corner(a hallmark of the wet plate process).The plate measures 8 X 10 inches.The image is roughly 5 ½ X 9 ½ inches.
