This spectacularsilver Kachina was completely handmade by the very talented Navajosilversmith Toby Henderson (1964-2019).He made this out of genuine sterling silver along with a real turquoise stone.This dancing eagle contains a great amount of detailing, embossed work, silverbeads, and twisted silver, and the head is detachable. This Kachina is 5¾"inches tall, the wingspan is 5" inches wide, and the base on which onefoot is resting is 2” inches in diameter. The kachina has great fluidity and ishallmarked with Toby’s usual "TH", and stamped “Handmade SterlingNavajo.”

Toby Henderson was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and belonged to the Bitter Water Clan. Toby'smother, Ella Long, his grandparents, Helen and Jim Long, and his Uncles Phillipand Tommy Long are all silversmiths and goldsmiths recognized for high qualityand innovative workmanship. Toby learned his art from his grandparents withwhom he spent the summer months when he was a boy. Toby was the first in hisfamily to create freestanding “Holy People Figures” or kachinas, such as thisone. Sadly, Toby passed away in October2019. His unique talent and creativitylives on in his beautiful dancing eagles, such as this one.
