This is an uncut half sheet from the original Color Proof run before going to the final printing facility. There is no known quantity of uncut final sheets available. There are only 2 of this one and I have them both pictured here. This is the first time the error card was ever printed for quality check and final approval from Lucas film before sending the plates to the final printing facility.There have never been any uncut color proof sheets from this series sold anywhere! Here\'s your chance to own something no one else has including Mr. Lucas himself or Ranco Obi1. This is 1 of only 2 copies of an uncut half sheet color proof of the infamous 3-CPO x-rated error card. Both copies are shown for clarity. My father was a lithographer and worked for Topps at their pre-press shop in SLC UT in 1977. This is where the 4 color printing plates were made prior to being sent to the final printing facility. They were in the process of moving to a bigger building and there was a pallet of uncut proof sheet\'s. These are Color proofs that are run to check the quality for client approval prior to going to press. My father asked if he could keep a few of them. They told him you can keep a few Bob but they aren\'t for sale. He ended up bringing home practly the whole pallet over the next few weeks. He knew about the value of trading cards but didn\'t care about Star Wars. He gave the Star Wars sheets to us as kids to cut up on the paper cutter and have cards before they were available for sale. We were real cool at school for a couple of weeks. He should have never let us do that! So now after all these years my father has asked me if there is anything I want of his before he passes. I told him I would like the beer can collection we put together and a copy of any of the uncut Star wars cards if he found any. He thought he might have a few sheets that had not been given to us as kids. He had ended up trading most of the Uncut Sports cards to an owner of Field of Dreams trading card stores in Las Vegas. Anyway he sent me what he found. Two uncut half sheets which happened to have the error card. He had told us at the time in 1977 that the people at Lucas film had told him they did it as a joke! That it was done on purpose and submitted along with everything else to see if George would notice it. Since he was so particular about everything they thought it would be a good joke. Of course they never intended for it to be printed or go to market. After the discovery they recalled the batch. Originally when stories surfaced about it they denied it existed. Then when copies were found in the public domain they said it was a photo clitch or lighting error etc. I have shown pictures of some of the partial collection of original cards that we cut up as kids that I still have. Unfortunately I don\'t have any of the errors, I remember they were very hot and probably got traded for something at school like candy from the vending machine or copies of magazines from the book sales. They are shown to also show the difference in batches when the proofs were run. So I have decided to put one of the sheets into circulation but I will be keeping the other for myself as it is a cherished memory with my father. To be clear this is something that no one else could possibly have. There might be uncut sheets from the actual final printing facilities but these would not be the same as uncut proofs from the plate making facilities. Since people are listing copies of the error card in NM condition for 5- $6,000 each I have decided it would be appropriate to start the sale price at $5,000. This sheet is far more of a rarity than the printed card and similar to the rarity of the rocket shooting prototype of the Boba Fett action figure.
