This is a nice Stanley Bailey Bench Plane, I really struggled and am not sure of the type :

MODEL: 5 1/4 Type 17 (??? possibly?-see the markings, weight and size) Possible 16 except for non-metal black adjustment knob
MARKINGS: Stanley w/ red (lever cap), Bailey & Made in USA on toe/body, 5 1/4 on heel/body no pat number, on adjusting lever-vertical 'STANLEY' on front
SIZE: 11 1/2" x 2 1/4"
WEIGHT: approx 3.5 lbs
BLADE: marked w/ Stanley in rectangle box and Made in U.S.A.
SOLE: smooth
CONDITION: Both handle and knob have scratches, rough edges and scuffs and missing finish but no cracks, sole has some scratches and tiny pits, various scratches and rust, some soil, otherwise I couldn't detect any flaws. Appears to be complete. Untested, not refurbished Please see photos.
