St Boniface Single Decade Rosary This beautiful \"pocket\" rosary is has a 7/8\" nickel silver St Boniface medal with \"Pray for Us\" on the back. The 1-1/2\" silver-toned crucifix has soil from the Roman Catacombs at the foot of the cross. The ten Hail Mary beads are alternatinggenuine Czech ruby red faceted glass and genuine Picture Jasper. The Our Father is a genuine Tigereye.The medal and crucifix were made in Italy; the chaplet itself was designed and handmade by me in our home in the USA. St Boniface (675-754) was was born into a noble family in southern England. He was raised in the Catholic faith and received a good education. When missionary monks visited his hometown, Boniface was inspired to follow their example. He spent 7 years in a Benedictine monastery and then went to the Abbey of Nursling. He was ordained a priest at age 30. He was an excellent preacher, teacher, administrator, organizer and diplomat and became a leading figure in the Anglo-Saxon mission to the Germanic parts of Francia. He organised significant foundations of the church in Germany and was made bishop of Mainz by Pope Gregory III. He was martyred in Frisia in 754, along with 52 others, and his remains were returned to Fulda, where they rest in a sarcophagus which remains a site of Christian pilgrimage. He is known at the \"Apostle to the Germans.\"
