For sale at this time is part of my extensive collection of antique blob top beer bottles with porcelain Hutter patented 1893 stoppers included.
This embossed brewery issued blob top bottle is in better than average condition with old (very rusted) wires and a strongly printed, original porcelain stopper intact.
Clear glass with tiny bubbles throughout.
Blob top at the opening with no chips or cracks
Wire assembly is intact and original to this pre-prohibition brewery bottle.
Description of the bottle:
Embossing on this bottle is as follows:SBCo (Trade Mark) monogram on shoulder, Springfield Brewing Co. Boston Branch, Boston, MASS. REGISTERED
This is a "BRANCH" bottle for the Springfield Brewing Co which is from Springfield, Mass.
Many times, to expand their sales and market share, breweries had to sell their beer in distant marketplaces that were outside of their traditional, local distribution area.
Such activities didn't make any truly local breweries very happy, and may or may not have been very successful for the brewery who did the "exporting" of their product into another market area.
Collectors of Massachusetts brewery bottles will enjoy adding this "Branch" brewery bottle with original stopper to their collection.

Diameter, across the base = 2 5/8"
Description of the porcelain stopper / cap:
Strongly printed in black
Watch for multiple variations of this stopper, i.e. different wording on the "end" of the barrel, different angles of the barrel itself, and different type sizes and styles for the brewery name.

Each of my beer brewery bottles have been stored carefully in a smoke free, pet free environment for years.
I've moved recently and space to display everything is just not available.
Instead of storing these great bottles out of site in a wine box for years longer, it makes sense to pass them on to those from the antique bottle and brewery collectibles fields who can display them and love having them as I have.

There will be many beer and brewery bottles, most with porcelain ceramic stoppers.
There will be dairy bottles in various sizes, mostly from Bucks County, Pennsylvania and surrounding area.
There will be all sorts of other old collectibles that have recently resurfaced through the activity of moving everything into one, smaller, forever home and now trying to find room for everything and trying to display what is surely bringing the most joy to us.

I pack all bottles with lots of packing paper, bubble wrap, etc, so no worries there.
