STUNNING COLLECTOR SPECIMEN, UNWORN, AMAZINGLY DETAILED COMPLETE WEALDEN LIZARD OSTEODERM - MINIATURE LIZARD MICRO SCUTE FOSSIL PRESERVED IN WEALDEN MATRIX BONE BED

This is really special. RECENT FIND! A second lizard scute to offer. A lovely UNWORN, detailed AND complete lizard rough hexagon shaped osteoderm micro scute from an unknown or unnamed species of Wealden lizard. These have been recorded on the Isle of Wight but this one was found in Sussex! There are examples shown in a well know Wealden publication including oval lizard scutes, but those are incomplete, broken specimens. The one being offered here for sale is a complete unworn example, so it's pretty special. The detail is amazing under a microscope, a surface showing extremely fine detail. The surface is rugose on the upper side which shows a nice central ridge. See ruler which is in centimetres for scale - 2mm size micro fossil.

These fossils were collected by me over a period of two decades and put away in the hope one day, some of these, the special finds, might be recognised by science, but seems _some_ researchers are too busy with skeletons and such like, and priorities change, my priorities I mean, and that's good for YOU the collector and for MUSEUM at the same time because it means new material comes to light for you all....hope to see you come back soon!
