The Airbus 319 is a member of the Airbus A320 family of short to medium range narrow body airliners. It is a twin engine jet airliner capable of carrying between 124 to 156 passengers at a maximum range of 3,700 miles. The A319 is a shortened fuselage variant of the A320 and entered service in 1996.
British European Airways (BEA), was a British airline that existed from 1946 to 1974. They provided service to Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East from airports around the United Kingdom. BEA later merged with British Overseas Airways Corporation to form British Airways. Throughout its history, BEA had 490 aircraft of various manufacturers in its inventory.
This British Airways aircraft with registration G-EUPJ is an Airbus A319-131. It had its maiden flight on 28 April 2000. It was delivered to British Airways on 30 May 2000, where it is still providing passenger service. The aircraft was painted with the BEA retro livery that was in use from 1959 to 1968.
