Set of 2 Vtg 1943 Ancient Egypt Tru-Vue 3D Photos Film Reel Strip View-Master Stereo have been collecting 3D media for the last 30 years and finally decided it\'s time to part ways with some of my favorite things.
This is a rare complete set of two vintage Tru-Vue film strip reels of 3D pictures taken of Egyptian historical sights with both film strips in matching red & white boxes. Each film strip reel contains 14 different 3D stereo images for viewing within a Tru-Vue viewer stereoscope (not included). See Egypt as it was in the early 1940s without the wear and tear of 14.7 million tourists each year.
The films show scenes such as: Cairo Street Scenes in the bustling town of 1 million people (which today has grown to 96 million), the Museum at Cairo, the Great Pyramids, the Temple at Luxor, the Gateway to the Temple of Karnak, ancient hieroglyphic writings, the Tomb of Hapshepsut, , Colossi of Memnon. the Tomb of King Tut (which was excavated a few years ago according to the 1943 text), the Sphinx of Sakara, the Great Sphinx of Gizeh, the Great Colonnade, and the acres of ruins that used to be ancient Egypt. See these sights as they once were in these wonderful 3D photos from 75+ years ago! Today these reels are very interesting historic stuff! Complete sets almost never show up leaving collectors to find each film strip one at a time.

Condition:The film strip reels are all in excellent condition and are both in their original red and silver boxes with the original cardboard inserts! I have personallygone through each film strip reel with white gloves on and inspected every frame and every film cog. All are perfect guaranteed! I would suggest whenviewing these rare films (and all other Tru-Vue films), to pull them slowly through the viewer rather than using the advance lever. This is how the cogsget torn.
Both of the boxes have slight shelf wear as to be expected, but all flaps are present and there are no crushes, as can be seen in my photos. Each reel is in its original cardboard sleeve. I have tried my best to photograph every aspect of the boxes and filmstrips. Please check my pictures out and if you have any questions, please email! About Tru-Vue from the UK Viewmaster website:TRU-VUE Inc., Rock Island, Illinois USA manufactured the viewers and over 400 different 3D film reels. The company was foundedin 1931 and after the 1933 \"Century of Progress Exposition\" in Chicago grew and flourished through the 1930\'s and 40\'s. Theoriginal viewers used 35mm filmstrips, generally containing 14 stereo views, which were pulled through the viewer using a lever(visible at the bottom of the left-hand photograph below). In 1949 Tru-Vue sold over a million reels of film!. The quality of the 3Dpresented is generally very good, although the films need to be handled carefully. Film-strips and viewers were made between 1933and 1952. Ultimately the Tru-Vue company was acquired by Sawyers View-Master in 1952, who wanted the rights to Disneylicences held by the company.
