This set of two compotiers features historical rivals, Wellington and Napoleon, in a beautiful blue and white Neo-Classical style. Made by the renowned brand Wedgwood in the United Kingdom, these pieces are crafted from high-quality ceramic and porcelain materials. Duke of Wellington Portrait first modeled for Wedgwood in 1813 by John Henning. Portrait of Napoleon modeled from medallion cast around 1800. Each portrait surrounded by laurel leaf garland with facsimile of each signature in 24kt gold and measure 4-1/2" in diameter. From an edition of 1,200 pairs produced by the long ended "The Wedgwood Collectors Society" as stamped in gold on the back.These compotiers are an original post-1940 creation and have not been modified.
