Vintage / Antique Japanese hand-painted wood lacquered black and gold sake cups. A complete set of six in excellent vintage condition!
Each cup\'s scene is similar, but unique. It looks like the cups were covered in the gold lacquer first, then covered with the black lacquer, then the artist lightly scratched the black lacquer off to reveal the gold to create the scenes. So beautiful!
This is a larger version than many online. They are 4.25 inches tall and about 2 inches across the top. There is nothing on the bottom of each cup to indicate when or where they were made. Very nice set!
