The Trans-Mississippiand International Exposition was held at Omaha, Nebraska NE from June 1 throughOctober 31 in 1898. It was the subject of the first picture postcards ofa Nebraska place or event. A set of 10 official postcards was printed onUS Government one cent postcards by the Chicago Colortype Co. and featuredartist\'s conceptions in pastel colors of 10 of the exposition buildings.This is a set of 10 postcards published in 1992 by the Trans-MississippiExposition Historical Association. They feature photographic versions ofthe same buildings shown on the 1898 official postcards and provide aninteresting comparison between the artist\'s conceptions and reality.These were printed by Klopp Printing Company, a pioneer printer, and one of theprinters for the exposition in 1898. 1500 sets were printed and will notbe reprinted. Always see pictures.

The Trans-MississippiInternational Exposition was held inOmaha,Nebraskafrom June 1to November 1, 1898.The following summer in 1899 the GreaterAmerica Exposition was held using the same grounds.
