Scheibe-Alsbach Kister German Porcelain 9.5" Napoleon Figurine Of Marshall Ney.

Collectible Scheibe-Alsbach Kister German made porcelain figurine of Michel Ney, 1st Duke of Elchingen, 1st Prince of the Moskva and French military commander. The son of a cooper from Saarlouis, Ney worked as a civil servant until 1787 when he enlisted in a cavalry regiment, right before the outbreak of French Revolution. Distinguishing himself as a cavalry officer in the War of the First Coalition, he quickly rose through the ranks and, by the Battle of Hohenlinden (1800), he had been promoted to divisional general. On Napoleon's proclamation of the French Empire, Ney was named one of the original 18 Marshals of the Empire.

Set includes officers and soldiers each having the following information:

1. Wearing respective uniform

2 Standing on a square base with gilt impressed name with a short incised

biography with birth

3. Dated military battles and death in French on base

4. Pattern numbers and backstamp in blue underglaze "S" with a

cross, c. early 20th century.

Figured is in fantastic condition with NO chips, cracks,crazing, flea bites or stains.

Measuring 9 1/2” high x 3" long wide.
