PRODUCT DESCRIPTION SAINT CECILIA HAND-PAINTED STATUE From the beautiful Studio Collection of Veronese Design, this statue depicts Saint Cecilia playing a small organ. Since the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries St. Cecilia is often represented as playing the organ, most likely to express the idea that while the musicians played at her wedding, she sang in her heart to God alone. The name of St. Cecilia has always been most illustrious in the church, and ever since the primitive ages is mentioned with distinction in the canon of the mass. She is celebrated as a Virgin and Martyr on November 22nd. This statue is made of resin and measures 8 1/2"H.
