OurStory:We bought a small farm in the Tennessee Valley Area that has an OLD quartz mine on the property. There are caves and springs throughout the property that are teaming with the most unique crystals & minerals I’ve ever seen. As nature lovers and rockhounds this place has been a magical wonderland for us. The deeper areas produce some really wild specimens. We find fossils of all kinds, fossilized coral, meteorites, plus all kinds of mineral and gemstones. The vast mineral content and elevation make these quartz/ quartzite geodes, nodes and nodules contain a vast spectrum of sparkly to drusy, from clear to colored quartz interiors. Some have quartz scepters and or fine secondary crystal growths. Some may also contain: Calcite crystal growths, Pseudo cubic Quartz, Keokuk like botryoidal textures, pyrite crystals on quartz, calcite, chalcedony, blue angel quartz, etc. Vast & varying array of minerals in these quartzoids, quartz and quartzite natural geodes. There are so many different stages of crystallization and intricate mineral growths that may occur in the same specimen, making for beautiful unique treasure each time.

Most are filled with clear to white quartz crystals. Micro-crystalline quartz, or chalcedony, whose component crystals form the outer shell. Chalcedony layers often encrust the interior walls of many geode cavities, covering the surfaces of the earlier generation of quartz crystals inside.

Some of my most unique finds have been the geodes with pseudocubic quartz crystal underneath a chalcedony coating!
