This is a very impressive, well made, Regulator wall clock that was created in the \"USA\" about 45 years ago by \"Harris and Mallow\" and marketed in their \"Verichron\" line of fine clocks. It is a stunning, wooden case with a western rustic look to it. And it is equipped with a high quality, \"German\" 8 day, Westminster Chime movement made by \"Hermle,\" the finest there is. The case is Oak or Mahogany I think, and finished in a gorgeous shade of dark blended mahogany with lots of the grain showing through; very nice! This is one of the most impressive chiming wall clocks I\'ve ever seen and it\'s been a nice blessing to enjoy in our home. The clock is impressive in size too measuring about 21 1/2\" at its highest, about 5 1/2\" at its deepest point, and about 13 1/2\" at its widest point. The wooden top is an octagon shape, hinged, and has three beveled levels and a brass pull to open from the side. There is a round glass crystal inset into it; no cracks or chips that I can see. It is quite secure yet opens easily to allow access to the hands to set the time and wind the clock via the three arbors located there. The dial has a soft almond backdrop and features, large, easy to read, bold Roman numerals to mark the hours and metal, matching hands to point out the time. The words, \"Westminster Chime\" are found below center and the point of origin, \"USA\" is on the bottom in small print. The name, \"Verichron\" is found in their familiar block letter caps logo just above center on the dial. The lower part of the case features a five-sided, hinged wooden door with a tapered edge and a glass crystal inset into it that has black and gold edging; no cracks or chips here either. The door provides for viewing the pendulum as it swings back and forth. It is quite secure and opens to allow for setting the pendulum and for convenient key storage. The back cover is complete and all hardware is intact. The back removes for allowing you to set up the pendulum or for making any adjustments should this ever be required. There is an intact factory label on the back certifying the manufacture, model number, and USA point of origin as well as instructions for clock operation or making adjustments if they are ever necessary. And the clock plays music too! At the quarter hour, the clock plays a four-note melody on five golden metal chime rods; eight notes at the half hour mark; twelve notes at the three-quarter hour mark, and the full sixteen note melody at the top of the hour followed by chiming the current number of hours, just like Big Ben in London; fascinating!The clock works quite well here, chimes beautifully, and keeps good time too. This clock works for up to 8 days on a single wind and looks to have been used sparingly and well cared for. Keep in mind, this is a nice vintage clock and not a new clock and mechanical clocks require servicing at least once every three years or so. If you do this consistently, the clock could probably outlive you and I both. It is a stunning, absolutely gorgeous clock and gets a lot of attention here in our home and I\'m sure it will in yours as well! The clock comes complete as shown with a brass metal pendulum and the winding key. I\'ve looked the clock over fairly well and find that it reveals little signs of use, no damage and no missing parts. This clock is one of the most impressive models that I\'ve seen in some time.
