I believe this Dutch sterling silver perfume bottle with chatelaine clip is a rare find because I cannot find anything similar. The entire piece is fascinating, and for some reason the silversmith chose a scene depicting dockworkers who look like naked babies! The scenes, which are different on the front and back include a town skyline, fish and a horse.
Note: The cork under the flip cap is present, but I am not going to try to remove it.Note: Age/date is unknown, but appears to be early to mid 1800s.Dimensions:Height: 3.2", including the cap, but not the bird on the capWidth: 1.7", not including the ornate handlesDepth: 0.9"Total piece length, including chain and clip, when stretched out: 8.0"Weight of item: 3.2 ouncesSilver Marks:I cannot interpret all of them. There were so many makers that it is impossible to work out who made this. There are two silver purity marks. I believe there are two marks because the piece has several parts to it, and these part may have different purities.
