Here’s a rare Stanley Type 15, Sweetheart (SW) plane with MADE IN USA cast sideways next to the tote. It’s a two-year type, make between 1931 – 1932. It’s the only one I’ve ever seen. It was most likely made early in 1931 and carried this feature, which was also rare in Type 14 planes, over from the Type 14.
Rosewood handles are very good and present beautifully.
Has STANLEY on the lateral Adjuster. Sweetheart Cutter is just over 7” long and sharp, ready to use.
Japanning is original and excellent. The lever cap has some of its original chrome plating with some missing (Chrome can be polished off. I prefer this original look). The bottom has light use marks. The plane has had a very light hone and is flat. The mouth of the plane has very slight wear with no cracks. It\'s a very good cutter. Sharp! In the photo shown, the wood being cut is hard pine.
