Thislittle wooden barrel butter churn was acquired in Germany 25 years ago. It was an award givenforcompleting at least 10 km. of a 20 km. walk (Volksmarch) in August,1989 in thetown of Niederaula, Germany. The weekendWandertage (walking/hiking days) event was organized by the local DRK (GermanRed Cross) and was their 11th annual such event. Also included is the advertisingflyer/brochure which is in German with one page in English.

Thechurn is ~4 \" high and 6 \" long (including handle). The simple floral decoration is hand paintedin the Bauernmalerei (Bavarian folk art) style.\"Handbemalt\" (meaning hand painted) is written on the top and \"11IVV Wandertage DRK Niederaula\" is written on the back. The crank handle turns, but the lid does notopen.
