HAND PAINTED AND INKED PAN CEL OF PHILLIP DANCING WITH BRIAR ROSE, PLACE ON ITS KEY MATCHING 29x12" PAN EYVIND EARLE PRODUCTION BACKGROUND FROM THE FILM, AND PLACED UNDER ITS KEY MATCHING EYVIND EARLE HAND-PAINTED AND INKED PAN OVERLAY CEL.WITH ADDED CEL OF THE BIRDS THAT APPEARED IN THE SAME SCENE (THE CEL OF THE SQUIRREL HAS BEEN ELIMINATED, AS ITS PAINT HAS FLAKED OFF SINCE THE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN).INCLUDED IS A LETTER FROM THE EYVIND EARLE STUDIO WITH THE IMAGE OF THIS SETUP ATTACHED AND INITIALED BY EARLE, ATTESTING THAT HE DID THIS SETUP.
NOTE: THIS IS A RARE AND UNUSUAL "MULTI-PLANE" SETUP THAT CAN BE FRAMED IN THREE LAYERS: PAN BG ON THE BOTTOM, GLAZING, CEL OF PHILLIP AND BRIAR ROSE, GLAZING, PAN OVERLAY CEL AND CEL OF THE BIRDS ON TOP. THIS GIVES THE ENTIRE SETUP A "3-D FEEL", JUST AS IT DID WHEN IT WAS FILMED WITH A MULTIPLANE CAMERA IN THE 1959 FILM.

NOTE: THIS IS THE TOUCHING SCENE IN THE FILM WHEN THEY FIRST MEET, FALL IN LOVE, AND DANCE TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME-- WITH THE BIRDS AND FOREST ANIMALS LOOKING ON. AND THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW DISNEY MULTI- PLANE SETUPS TO SURVIVE.THE BG AND CELS ARE IN NEARLY MINT CONDITION, BUT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BG IS VERY SLIGHTLY RIPPLED WITH VERTICAL RIPPLES-- NEARLY ALL OF WHICH HOWEVER ARE COMPLETELY HIDDEN BY THE OVERLAY. THE HAND-PAINTED EYVIND EARLE PAN OVERLAY IS NEARLY MINT AS WELL, WITH ONLY A FEW VERY SMALL BITS OF PAINT MISSING-- MOSTLY IN THE BORDER AREAS, WHICH CAN BE VERY EASILY MATTED OUT-- REFER TO THE PHOTO OF THE MATTED SETUP.This Original, Hand-Painted Production Cel Setup has been stored in our Light-Controlled/Temperature Controlled Gallery for the last several decades, andis still in Nearly Pristine MINT condition, with Bright, Lustrous, completely UN-faded colors.
