For Consideration is a Rare Original 18th Century Colonial/American Revolutionary War Maker Marked & Red Painted Gun Powder Keg - c. 1765-1780

Original American made Revolutionary War signed, marked and red painted wood iron staved keg for powder used in pistols, muskets and cannon fuses.
A large piece, measuring 11.0 inches high, 9.0 inches wide and 6.25 inches deep. It stands 14.0 inches with it\'s 3.0 inch iron handle raised. This amazing keg is painted Red, oval in design with iron carrying handle, one loop for the handle is missing from the band and the band rivet repaired. Stamped \"IOSS\" on both sides and maker/owner marked \"A. SLIND\" on one.
CONDITION: Good. Band with loop has rust holes and is slightly large. Bands tacked in place. Nice original 18th century paint with minor wear.

This is an Ex-Museum Piece which had previously been on display in a Private Collection in Worcester, Massachusetts for many years!

A Scarce and highly collectible Piece of Napoleonic War and the French Revolution Military History.
