I buy a lot of historical prints because I have a clientele of institutions that purchase these kind of works. This is an incredibly rare print that I have only been able to find 2 other examples of. One is in the Library of Congress and one is in the Boston Atheneaum. Unfortunately, this print is in a bit of rough shape and that is why I have not offered it to my institutions. They require pieces to be in better shape than this. However, because of the scarcity of this work, even in this condition, it is still worth owning for any collector. In fact, this print comes in its original frame with Old Print Shop, New York City label on the back. To me that says, that though the condition is not ideal, it is still a print they were willing to sell because of the scarcity and demand for it. First, the print is trimmed to side and top margins. Print measures 10 3/4 x 15 1/2 inches. It is laid down. Obvious tear repairs along the sides with painted restoration showing up. Toning and spotting to the print. Lower left corner shows a tear repair with slight loss of print. The restoration was done long ago is my guess. Mid 20th century matte and frame are complimentary and ready to hang and set up to display this print very well. Do your own research on this print. It is super rare and I have found no other examples having sold or for sale. Dont miss this chance. Frame measures 17 x 21 1/4 inches.
