Robust 6” Texas Fossil Nautiloid Ammonite, Cymatoceras Sp, Grayson Fm Tarrant Co:

This 6-inch nautiloid, cymatoceras species, is found in the Grayson Marl formation. Sometimes these nautiloids can be even larger. This specimen was found on a construction site in west Tarrant county, TX in early 2024. It was washed with soap and water but otherwise remains unprepped as found. I personally discovered this nautiloid, I’ve named him Not-a-Lloyd.

Please review ALL photos. One side has a lot of matrix stuck to it, but overall, the nautiloid looks great on the display side and it could be professionally cleaned to reveal the entire fossil underneath, if one decides to do that on their own.

Nautiloids are estimated to be 90-100 million years old, from the Cretaceous period. This would be a nice addition to your collection!
