Rare Vintage Sun Drop Bottle Cap, Dr Pepper Bottling Company, West Jefferson, North Carolina Sponsored By Dale Earnhardt. RIP 1980s,

This is a real treat to find! These are rare and hard to find without the writing on the top!

These are the most popular version of the Sun Drop bottle caps. There is even a company that does well making metal signs out of pictures of these caps in an \"artistic pile\".

A neat fact about this is when these were bottled and there were two different caps used a green one and a yellow one and people said they were different formulas and they both had a unique taste. One was supposed to be closer to the original formula (one known ingredient in the original is Glycerol Ester of Wood Rosin) and the other was a new formula.

From the 1970s until the early 1990s, the drink was promoted in the American South by NASCAR Winston Cup driver Dale Earnhardt. RIP Who can forget that Sun Drop Car?

I love these! Sun Drop brand was developed in St. Louis, Mo., in 1949 by Charles Lazier, a salesman of beverage concentrates. The really neat thing about this is in those early years it was left up to the individual bottler to name the product. Crush took over the Sun Drop brand in 1970 and the name was standardized. It is exactly hard to pinpoint if this was when Crush was sold to Proctor and Gamble or when they sold it in the late 1980s to Cadbury Schweppes plc. Sun Drop has sort of been passed around for decades but has such a huge following that people have been known to smuggle it to places it isn\'t distributed and it is shipped to military soldiers all around the world who crave that taste from their Southern and Midwestern roots.

These were found in an old bottling plant in Jefferson, NC in the 1990s.

Sun Drop is an “exhilarating citrus soda” made with spring water and orange juice and packing more caffeine than Mountain Dew.

Sun Drop is the official drink of the nationally recognized \"Fancy Farm Picnic\" in Fancy Farm, Kentucky last I researched.

I doubt I will ever find these again especially in this condition so definitely grab one of these pieces of American History for your collection while you can!
