Rare Vintage BERKSHIRE CUT. CO. 2-Blade JACK -- Made in U.S.A. (1939-1941) For Sale

This is a very rare BERKSHIRE CUT. CO. 2-Blade Jack Knife that I believe was made between 1939 and 1941 for parent company SIMMONS HARDWARE of St. Louis, which was once the biggest hardware supplier in the U.S. It measures 3.4" long closed and has a 2.4" long Drop point blade and a 2" long Pen blade. It has a NICKEL SILVER BOLSTER and a BRASS LINER. Open and close is tight with little snap but there is NO WOBBLE on the blades.

The Black handles are made of JIGGED DELRIN and are in good condition, especially considering they are over 80-Years-Old, but note top of the front side scale is starting to lift up and needs to be reset. The tang is stampedBERKSHIREoverCUT. CO.overU.S.A. It has not been cleaned by me and is in as-found condition. Please see the was best known for its highly regarded KEEN-KUTTER brand and Berkshire was a very small line for the company. Simmons went bankrupt in 1939 and their assets were purchased by SHAPLEIGH HARDWARE CO.(also from St. Louis) in 1940 which continued to operate the company along with its other brands like Diamond Edge, Hibbard Spencer & Bartlett, Belknap, Winchester, and its own E.C. SIMMONS brand.
