Rare Vintage 1950s L.A. Goodman Illuminated 3D Rudolph Reindeer Lights Working:

This is a great midcentury electric 3D plastic pair of reindeers with a cardboard backing. It is 12 ½” high, 19 ½” wide, and 2 ½” deep. The reindeer are running side by side and have red harnesses. The background is a deep blue with white stars. Please see the shipping note below on the cheapest way to ship this.

Given its age, the plastic has become brittle so there are some cracks (or maybe the cracks were there from usage before it got so old). Nothing has broken off. The largest crack is in the hoof of the front reindeer that extends to the bottom of the piece. There’s a large dent in the leg of the other reindeer near the same area. There’s a crack in the torso of the front reindeer. There’s a dent around the front hooves. There are several smaller cracks and dents along the edges. These issues don’t detract from the fun or uniqueness of the piece; if I already didn’t have a huge vintage Christmas collection, I’d keep it because it’s so cool.

It takes a 15-watt short lightbulb. The cord and plug appear to be in good condition, but please use care as this is a vintage piece. It has a rectangular hole on the back that must be how to hang it; it also has 2 flaps near the bottom that fold inward so you can display it on a tabletop.

It was made by LA Goodman Mfg Co, probably in the 1950s or 1960s. It is marked on the back “Cat. No. 321-O-Santa Reindeer Designed for Indoor & Outdoor Use 120 volts Use 15 watt lamp only L.A. Goodman Mfg. Co. Chicago 21, Ill.”

Please keep in mind that when buying vintage items, you are purchasing something that is pre-loved and used. Most vintage items show signs of wear and may have defects, but that is also what makes them so unique and lovely.
