Antique Union Case, Thermoplast or Gutta Percha, Single Picture Case - Geometric/Scroll, with an Ambrotype Picture of a gentleman.

Presented in a beautiful brown Union Case - Excellent. Fine gilt and burnished hinge in a genuine Union Case.

This is truly a unique collector item with the paper insert from Scovill still preserved beautifully. While cleaning this item and detaching the picture I found this paper clipping behind it, the words are as applicable as they were in the 1800\'s.

Pictured is a gentleman in formal attire.

Case is not named; ninth plate size, with dimensions 2 9/16 inch by 3 inch.

There is no visible damage to this case. Beautiful rich embossed dark green colored velvet, with a superbly engraved Union inspired gold colored picture face plate with edge preserver. Face plate is rare. Case maker is Soovil Mf\'g Co.
