RAY WINDER FIELD

Ray Winder Field, located in Little Rock, Arkansas, was a beloved baseball stadium that served as the home of the Arkansas Travelers of the Texas League from 1932 until 2006. Initially named Travelers Field, it was renamed in 1966 to honor Ray Winder, the longtime general manager of the Travelers who significantly contributed to the team\'s success and community presence. With a seating capacity of approximately 6,083, the stadium offered an intimate and nostalgic baseball experience, featuring a manually operated scoreboard and a classic wooden grandstand that hearkened back to the golden age of baseball. The field was cherished for its family-friendly atmosphere and the strong bond it fostered between the fans and the team.

Ray Winder Field was a significant stepping stone for many future Major League Baseball stars. Notable players who graced its diamond include Hall of Famers like Tris Speaker, Ferguson Jenkins, and Jim Bunning, as well as other prominent figures such as Todd Helton, who played for the Travelers before achieving stardom with the Colorado Rockies.
