This blacksmith forged spike tomahawk is a rare and possibly one of a kind object. Hugh Bartrug 1933-2009  is known mainly for his superbly crafted edged weapons with Damascus blades.His Ashley Forge was located in

Elizabeth Pennsylvania. His products

principally knives are uncommon and seldom appear on the market. This forged iron spike tomahawk may be a

early unique effort and may date to the late 1940s-50s. A thorough search of the internet has failed to reveal any other

tomahawks by Mr.Bartrug.

The piece appears is to be in excellent condition showing a unpolished surface and no repairs or restorations. The maker\'s stamp is sharp.
