Up for sale is a very rare and finely cast 18th century antique bronze religious panel of a Travel TriptychIconfeaturing Russian Catholic Orthodox Saint in the form of a triptych. Panel measures 1" by 1-7/8".Wonderful iconography. See photos. A rare piece that has travelled the whole world!Originally in a 3 panel piece, it would have been broken apart into 3 pieces so it could be split up for people of faith, most likely for family members to worship to keep God close if they didnt have a cross. Nice details!!!!!!!!
A triptych (/ˈtrɪptɪk/ TRIP-tik; from the Greek adjective τρίπτυχον "triptukhon" ("three-fold"), from tri, i.e., "three" and ptysso, i.e., "to fold" or ptyx, i.e., "fold") is a work of art that is divided into three sections, or three carved panels that are hinged together and can be folded shut or displayed open.
