Rare India Mutiny Medal Bar Delhi Died on the first day of the retaking attempt 14/9/1857…… so may have been killed in Action, or died of disease… This medal is in very fine condition and as far as I know never been on the market before. There’s is no repairs to the swivel mount and Delhi bar is original with no repairs . I have never had medal clean and patina is as found. Period correct naming all clear to read very minor edge knock that’s doesn’t show up in photos. History. Medal awarded to 2729 Thomas Davis Pte of the 61ft South Gloucestershire Regt. Pte T Davis was killed in the first day of the siege of Delhi and was in the fifth column of 1000 members of the regiment KIA 14/9/1957 trying to Breach the gates. Pte Davis also served and was awarded the punjab medal( which is long gone) this is a very rare medal seldom seen for the first time as far as I am aware for sale. Details from WO 12/7132.
