Rare - Imperial German Saxon Garde Reiter Regt Other Ranks EM Helmet pickelhaube:

Imperial German Saxon Garde ReiterRegiment helmet. The tombak helmet shell features a large, starburst helmet plate ("wappen") with the coat-of-arms of Saxony with a crown above. Helmet shows signs of old Arsenal rework - which was not uncommon (see pics) Scaled, leather backed chinstraps, original Saxon and German Reich kokardes missing, later replacements. Riveted lobster tail with white metal domed rivets. Original padded sweat band interior (horsehair?) remains but with very little of the original leather covering remaining. Very rare EM (other ranks) Garde Reiter Regiment helmet. I have had this helmet in my collection for over 45 years. The exterior/interior has been untouched and uncleaned by me during that time. Shows signs of use, but is solid and in overall good condition for its age.
