The photographs speak for themselves with this specimen.This listing is for a spectacular and VERY rare GREEN apophyllite with Stilbiteand Heulandite crystal cluster from the Harz Mountains in Germany. Thisunusually large specimen is about 40% apple green apophyllite, 20% Stilbite and20%Heulandite, which is a perfect ratio -a nice combination of three zeolite minerals. There is just a smallamount of natural matrix on the base. The crystals are very large, well formedand bright.

We have included a 1cm square yellow cube in the photographsalong with a bunch of grapes to give you an idea of how large this fabulousitem is. The meaning of the name Apophyllite, comes from the Greekwords that mean \'get\' and \'leaf\', referring to its proclivity to exfoliate likea leaf, when heated. These crystals come in a range of colours, but the mostcommon are the clear or colourless crystals, as well as green apophyllite.Apophyllite is commonly found in combination with yellow stilbite and thesezeolite crystals form in a number of different configurations.

Apophyllite has a high water content, which gives them theability to conduct electricity under certain circumstances. You will findapophyllite in a naturally occurring pyramid shape, as druzy crystals onanother mineral, in clusters and in the massive form. The name apophylliterefers to a specific group of phyllosilicates, a class of minerals. Originally,the group name referred to a specific mineral, but was redefined in 1978 tostand for a class of minerals of similar chemical makeup that comprise a solidsolution series, and includes the members hydroxyapophyllite-(K).
