This is a complete very early MOLLE 1 vest and the rucksack waist belt that also serves as the "war belt" for the vest. The early MOLLE 1 system came out 1997 and was very short lived. The system integrated the waist belt for the rucksack into the vest and the belt had a plastic frame inside with a special ball and socket setup that the pack frame locked in to. The concept was that the waist belt for the pack was always worn as part of the vest and then when the pack was put on the frame would lock in to the belt.This system was not liked due to issues with the connection between the pack frame and belt and was very short lived, in production for only about 18 months before MOLLE II was developed. The small number that were made were rarely kept, usually the plastic part was stripped from the belt to use it alone or with the vest if they were not just discarded in favor of the MOLLE II FLC.This set has the vest and the rucksack waist belt that has the plastic insert for the pack frame still present and intact.
