Rare Danish Ceramic/Pottery Statue of a Seated/Mourning Woman by L. Hjorth:

This is a stunning and rare ceramic figure of a seated or mourning woman signed \'L. HJORTH\' and \'Denmark\'. Also on the base is the L. Hjorth stamp (of a deer) and the number of the piece 830.
The piece is in excellent condition and is decorated with a red-brown and ocher colored glossy glaze.
I am unsure of the designer but suspect it to be Gertrud Kudielka.
Information:Lauritz Hjorth (1834-1912)set up his pottery in Bornholm, an island off the coast of Sweden, in1859.It operated until 1993 and then re-openedin 1995 as a working museum. For much of itshistoryit was operated by descendants of Lautriz Hjorth.
Measures 7\" H x 3\" x 4\" and weight 1.14 lb. without packing materials.
