Rare British Royal Navy Officer Bicorne Hat - Sir Cecil Foley Lambert - Admiral:
$750.00

Up for sale is a rare antiqueBritish Royal Navy Officer\'s Bicorne Hat and metal hat box. The provenance on this item is fantastic. The box has the name of the officer - Lieutenant CF Lambert. Cecil Foley Lambert joined the Royal Navy in 1877 and it is believed this hat was presented to him when he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in approximately 1880-1881. Cecil Foley Lambert was knighted and he rose to the rank of Admiral during World War 1.
This has been in my collection for years. I purchased from a professional golfer in Dallas Texas. He purchased from an antique shop specializing in unique items from England while on tour.
I have included an excerpt from the Wikipedia page on Admiral Lambert. Also to note: the tag from the antique store has ca: 1780-1810 which is believed to be wrong - should be 1880-1910. The hat was made by Owen Harries & Co Landport and this company was producing items like this in the late 1800\'s.AdmiralSir Cecil Foley LambertKCB(28 May 1864 – 29 February 1928) was aRoyal Navyadmiral duringWorld War I.
