Rare Antique “Emaux Ombrants” Rubelles /Sarreguemines Plate c.1857+. This technique was practiced specifically at the Rubelles Majolica Factory fro 1827-1857 until sold to Sarreguemines in 1857. The “Emaux Ombrants” is process is a stamped “Intaglio” design . In this process an incised image has various colored glazes poured into the design at different depths in the molds cavities creating the appearance of shadows. Here we have a beautiful image of berries and leaves on a piece measuring 8.25” in diameter and in excellent antique condition. It has excellent impresssed Makers Marks from Sarreguemines.
