Up for offers is this rare 1800's cast iron flip flop waffle irons and base made in Springville, Chester County Pennsylvania by the Smith, Francis and Wells Foundry. The waffle irons will make one 8" diameter waffle at a time with hearts, diamonds, crosses, circles and squares on both sides. The waffle irons and base are both in good condition with no chips or cracks to the cast iron but there is some pitting on the outside surfaces as seen in the pictures probably from being used over a wood burning stove. The inside surface look great with no pitting. Overall a nice hard to find waffle iron from the 1800's with the original base that can still be used today on your gas stove.
