Rare Antique 16th Century Hungarian Or Polish Mace Buzdygan Buzogány to sword Rare Antique 16th Century Central European Hungarian Or Polish Combat Mace Buzdygan Buzogány Click images to enlarge Description Rare Antique second half of the 16th century Central European , Hungarian or Polish combat Mace Buzdygan, Buzogányok.DETAILS: A large hand forged iron head of bulbous form formed of nine widening flanges, each individually slid into to the central core tube of octagonal section and copper-soldered, fitted on the top with a rounded finial. With an integral tapered tube-shaped hand forged, iron socket with copper soldered seam, fitted with turned wood tubular haft incised with groove for suspension rope.Exceptionally large and heavy mace used as insignia signifying a high commander possibly in the rank of Hetman and combat weapon .REFERENCES:
