Here is a very rare April 1st prank letter bearing a false year, the contents of which are in the guise of a silly and enamoured rustic. The paper and ink point to c1860 to 1880. There is an embossed scroll motif on the top right, confirming that it is around the 19th century as it was in fashion to carry stationary with embossed designs. Creases are abundant and there is a tear on the bottom of the 3rd page of the folded leaf.

"My Dear Wife Oh Beck how I love you, Oh thoes deepe blue grisley gray ies of yours those prety [unclear] of yours know, Beck wont u yo be mine pleas say you will
Well I am a coming over these next Sunday knight and we will talk it over then I sup pose you will want to know where I live well i live over on old blue
Oh beck know she will love me know wont y well, Beck i am sorry I
got home so late that knigh yo was tare house but confound the girls they maid me goe home with them...." and so on.
