A rare belt buckle in remembrance of the 1985 Hurricane Gloria which devastated the Connecticut coastline about noon on Friday, September 27, 1985 just west of Bridgeport with winds speeds clocked at 92 miles per hour. Gloria left 184,000 UI customers without power. UI crews with the aid of crews from Georgia Power, New York State Electric and Gas, Niagara Mohawk, Pennsylvania Electric and Public Service Electric and Gas (New Jersey). They worked tirelessly to repair the system . By midnight Saturday, October 5, power to all customers had been restored.Made by Appaloosa Custom Products, Milford Ct. and this one wasn given out to a Public Service Electric and Gas Lineman who aided in getting the power back on. Not sure how many of these were given out but not for the public.
It measures 3" x 2" and is pewter with some weight.
