Rare Vntg McCoy Planter “Stung By The Splendor Of A Sudden Thought" Cat. This hard to find vintage 1957 McCoy planter is in excellent condition. It features a brown and green glazed rock well with a cat peering deep within. This piece is labeled on the side “Stung by the splendor of a sudden thought” and marked McCoy underneath. There are no chips or cracks. There is the slightest crazing to the cat’s face but it is well underneath the top glaze as it is still nice and smooth. The once white cat has yellowed over time. I’ve encountered a few of these hard to find planters over the years and I’ve personally never seen one with a cat that hadn’t yellowed. The glaze is nice and smooth and shiny inside as well as outside. Measurements are 8x7x5 inches. Please see photos as they are considered part of the item description.
