You are offerding on an ANTIQUE roll sign in signbox from an R1 through R9 class New York Subway car. There were 1702 cars in this series. It took almost 10 years and three different contractors to complete the jobs - The American Car and Foundry, Pullman Standard, and The Pressed Steel Car Company. There were 2 signboxes on each car. Each signbox had 3 different rollsigns: The upper & middle were for destinations & the lower was for routes. This was the middle or number 2 rollsign box.
Signbox is in as used condition. Scratches, original dirt, rust, etc. Slight bend at the bottom. Mechanism works perfectly. Rollsign has original dirt, a stain or 2, etc. Please see pictures for condition.

CONEY ISLAND KINGS HIGHWAY The signbox measures approximately 30 inches x 8 inches by 7 inches. It is made of metal with a brass crank handle.
Sign curtain is made of cloth/vellum.
