Up for sale is this RARE Original 1935 EDELWEISS Brand Phosphate BAKING POWDER Tin Can w/ Orig LID. It was manufactured by JOHN SEXTON & Co. ~ Chicago - Brooklyn. This LARGE 2 1/2# size can measures 4 3/16\" across by 7 3/16\" high, which isn\'t surprising when you learn that John Sexton was a wholesale grocer that ONLY sold to COMMERCIAL Accounts. Thankfully whoever used it, wrote the date it was opened in light pencil, April 21, 1935, so we know EXACTLY when it is from.This would make an OUTSTANDING addition to ANY Baking Powder, Kitchen Tin, Commercial Size Tin, Baking, or advertising tin collection.
NOTE: I consider this tin to be Very Rare / HARD TO FIND, since I was UNABLE to find ANY prior sale of this brand of Baking Powder. Remember this brand was ONLY sold to commercial kitchens (during the depression no less). Unlike home kitchens, commercial kitchens use up products fast and discard the empty containers regularly, so shocking that it somehow survived all these years!!!
