Rare 1890 cabinet card of Watch Hill, RI, depicting a Birds Eye view of long stretch of beach around a peninsula. There are buildings and pier in the distance and a lone boat near the beach. It is a dramatic visual of the sun, partially obscured by clouds, shining across the water. This photograph was taken by C.H. Colby - Photography - Ocala, Florida. The card measures 8 1/2 inches by 5 1/4 inches and is mounted on dark green cardboard with gilt edging. Please note that specks in the sky appear to be mostly birds in flight, with some stray marks. There is a small chip on the top left of the mounting board. Otherwise, this cabinet card is is very good conditionA scarce collectible of Watch Hill in the late nineteenth century.
