Rare 1847 marriage certificate Grand Rapids early settler, James Rumsey, history:

WHAT: A marriage certificate for James A. Rumsey and his wife Cornelia Stone. Rumsey was one of the first settlers in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There is a street named after him. The Stone family has a large plot on a hill atop Bridge Street which still exists. The two people listed as witnesses on the certificate are Leonard Covell and his wife. Covell Street was named after him. And possibly Leonard Street as well.YEAR: 1847
SIZE: 8 by 10 inchesCONDITION: Light foxing, but really nice other than that.
