This vintage music history display features the hand signed extremely rare original 45 Monument recording of Roy Orbision\'s #1 hit \"Crying\" and an 8 x 10 black and white photograph of Roy Orbison, and the gold lettered laser engraved black metal descriptive plate. The collection is framed and double matted using black and gold colored acid free matting. Each opening is accented with a gold metallic finished matt board. The outside frame is brushed black and gold custom wood and all the elements of thismagnificent investment grade collectible is further preserved under UV Plexiglas. Roy Kelton Orbison (April 23, 1936 – December 6, 1988) nicknamed “the Big O” and “the Caruso of Rock” An American singer-songwriter known for his distinctive and impassioned four-octave voice, complex song structures and dark emotional ballads.

Between 1960 and 1964, 22 of Roy Orbison’s songs which he not only performed, but also composed, placed on the Billboard Top 40 Chart including “Only the Lonely,” “Crying,” “In Dreams” and “Oh, Pretty Woman”.

\"Crying\" is a song written by Roy Orbison and Joe Melson released as a 45-rpm single by Monument Records in July 1961. It reached No. 1 on the United States Cashbox chart on October 7, 1961.

In 2002, \"Crying\" was honored with a Grammy Hall of Fame Award and in 2010, Rolling Stone ranked it 69th on their list of the \"500 Greatest Songs of all Time.”

Roy Orbison was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1989. Rolling Stone placed him at number 13 on their list of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time”.

Roy Orbison died of a heart attack and left us at age 52.
