1st printing with $1.50cover price. Classic underground comix stories. The Freak Brothers in the 21stCentury! by Gilbert Shelton, Dave Sheridan and Paul Mavrides; Wonder Wart-hogand Fat Freddy\'s Cat by Gilbert Shelton; other stories by Hal Robins and FoolbertSturgeon. Special feature on Spanish alternative comix. Cover by Shelton. Lastissue before the switch to a magazine format. Mature readers. Black and white;52 pages. Cover price $1.50.

Indeed, the Spanish comics here are hit and miss, lacking the brilliancethat occasionally glimmered in the previous issue\'s French comics. The Americancomics in the first half of the book fare slightly better, as Sheltoncontributes the amusing \"The Fabulous Furry Freak Broz in the 21stCentury\" and the long-awaited third chapter in Wonder Wart-Hog\'s \"TheBattle of the Titans.\" The third installment sees our hero escape from hisnon-existence and reunite with his little brother Paranoid Punkpig, a warthogfrom ancient times named Piltdown Pig, and a warthog from the future namedPig-of-the-Future, to fight the crime wave that had run rampant in Muthalodesince Wonder\'s elimination from existence... oh crap, you\'re just gonna have toread the story to (maybe) make sense of it all!

Frank Stack (aka Foolbert Sturgeon) provides what we fervently hope isonly the first chapter in \"Frank Crankcase\'s Time Machine\" (whichturns out to be true by the next issue, but it\'s not quite the thrill weimagined it). In this tale of suburban boredom, \"midwesternintellectual\" Frank Crankcase orders a time machine from Woolco and headsout on a time-traveling adventure, but because of some hasty decisions he endsup in big trouble, but thank God is there to bail him out! At least this time.

Rip Off #10 is a solid entry in the early history of Rip Off Comix, though it turned out to be the last of the publication\'s comic-format issues. As promised by managing editor Frappington Wildebeest VII (this has to be FredTodd, right?), Rip Off would enlarge its format and include interior colorpages the next issue, thereby launching the publication into its\"mature\" phase and, despite a lengthy hiatus in production due tofinances, cementing the title\'s place in comic anthology history.

There was alittle store off Bleecker that specialized in underground comics. EveryFriday afternoon after work, I’d go there to see what was the latest versionjust hitting the shelves. With several of my hippy friends grooving, andlaughing over Comics, we’d sit around that smoke-filled room, sometimes lateinto the night.Fast forward, some fifty years later–my wife and I discovered some old cardboard boxes hidden behind junk in theback of our storage locker. It was a dry, cool place and the hundreds ofunderground comics that had only been read once, were in beautifulcondition. It felt like we discovered a pot of gold. We wrote todozens of book and comic stores with a list of our inventory. They said, there was no interest, no market and offered us little to nothing for thecollection. We explained to them that these were complete sets, first editions. To the retail outlets they were worthless, but to us they were priceless. Now we offer them on E-Bay and the collectors are grabbing them up, at our morethan fair and reasonable prices. Many we had universally certified withCGC, so you’ll know we’re trustworthy, reliable and have the best ofservice. Just check the response and reviews to know we’re honest andresponsible. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and hopeyou buy them now while they still are available. First come, firstserve. Thank you again for your time and interest.
